Norbert Scheed, District Mayor of the 22. Vienna District, has passed away.

It is very difficult to accept his sudden death. He was a politician with amazing idealism and was filled with human integrity. His early and unexpected death is a huge loss for everybody who has known Norbert Scheed.

I personally felt very close and was filled with sincere respect for this extraordinary human being. In all his encounters with me, with artists, and others who approached him, Norbert Scheed demonstrated openness, curiosity, and honest interest. He always displayed empathy and engagement. I am sadly conscious of the fact that it is rare to meet individuals with such qualities.
